Your First Visit to Greenwood Village Dentistry
By investing time at the beginning in getting to know you, your past experiences with dentistry, your oral hygiene and health practices, your medical history, any concerns you may have, and your goals for your future dental health, we can have the best chance at working with you toward an exceptional level of dental health. At this appointment, we will make recommendations to you for the appropriate diagnostic information to be taken today. These may include, but are not limited to, taking dental X-rays, models or photographs of your teeth. This appointment lasts about 60 minutes and is a crucial part in crafting the most effective general dental treatment plan for you.
What Can I Expect at My Second Visit?
During this appointment, we will guide you through your previous records to discuss your current dental health. It is our foundational belief that giving you a clear picture of your oral hygiene and health will aid you in making informed decisions concerning your future care. Before this second appointment, Dr. Charles Fischer and Dr. Lissa Alconcel will have the opportunity to study your records and become more familiar with your dental history so we can be fully prepared to complete your examination.
We will conduct a comprehensive dental examination, which will explore these four main areas:
- Dental-Facial: What does your smile look like? What aspects of it could be improved?
- Functional: How do your teeth, muscles and joints work together?
- Structural: How healthy is the structure of your teeth, muscles, jaw joints, gum tissue and bone tissue?
- Biological: Are there any signs of inflammation, periodontal disease or dental disease present?
Our experience shows that if we can keep these four areas healthy, we can help you to keep your teeth healthy and your smile brilliant for a lifetime. This appointment usually lasts about 90 minutes.
When Do I Get My Teeth Cleaned?
Once your exam at our Greenwood Village, Colorado, dental office is complete and Dr. Fischer or Dr. Alconcel have determined what type of dental cleaning is best for your needs, you will be scheduled with our hygienist. She will assist you with techniques and strategies for preventive dental care to help you avoid the possibility of developing a dental disease in the future. At the end of this appointment, you will have the opportunity to review the findings of your dental examination and have a specific oral hygiene and health treatment plan designed for your dental health future. You will be given an estimate, which will clearly explain your time and resource investment. You should plan on being with us for a little more than an hour.
